iPad Air 3 Rumors: Will The iPad Air 3 Finally Come Out March 2016?

It has been a while since Apple updated its iPad Air line up of tablets, with the iPad Air 2 over a year old since its release in October 2014. The iPad Air 3 was rumored to be released in 2015, but since the year has come and gone, the year 2016 is reportedly the time when it will finally be released. According to a report in TechRadar, after Apple concentrated on releasing the iPad Pro and a new iPad Mini 4 in 2015, this year will likely see the next generation of its flagship iPad Air tablet series.

The report claims that news coming China say that the iPad Air 3 will be released in March 2016.  Reports of an Apple event in March, initially said to be an event for the Apple Watch, have started circulating, saying that the company may announce the iPad Air 3 as well at that time. According to another report in Forbes, Tim Cook is said to be revealing the next iPad in March, which in fact returns the product to its "traditional March launch cycle."

According to a recent report, Apple is supposedly planning to hold the event on March 15, Tuesday.

With the new hardware upgrades on the iPad Pro and the iPad Mini 4, the upcoming iPad Air 3 is expected to bring with it significant upgrades as well. According to the report, among these are a rear-facing LED flash, additional speakers that will bring it up to par with the audio of the iPad Pro and compatibility with the Apple Pencil.

The TechRadar report also suggested that 3D Touch technology may find its way on the next iPad Air. In terms of resolution, there is also a rumor that it may have better resolution than the iPad Air 2 which was at 1,536 x 2048 pixels resolution.

If the device arrives early this year, it may come with the latest iteration of iOS 9. If it does come later, iOS 10 will likely be powering the new device. Under its hood, the device will definitely get a processor upgrade to at least an A9X or even a newer A10 chip.
