iPad Mini 4 Rumors, Specs: New Apple Slate Tipped to Get Improved Design, Hardware
Last week, the original iPad mini was discontinued by Apple and is no longer available via its online store. If that tells us something, it is that the upcoming iPad Mini 4 could be on the way.
And it seems like the rumors have already caught up.
According to a report by GSM Arena, an alleged silicon casing for the iPad mini 4 has surfaced, and shows a number of interesting features. In the report, the iPad Mini 4 will get only a single row of speaker grill openings, as well as a thinner design.

Other rumored features of the device include a new position for the mic, the newly announced iOS 9 that will be focused on multi-tasking, and a generous 2GB of RAM, which will be a first for the device. Previous mini tablets from Apple only had 1GB of RAM.
Apple introduced the iPad Mini in 2012, where it sold well over the existing iPad of that time. Unfortunately, recent editions of the iPad mini have not been too interesting, particularly the iPad Mini 3, which only had very few improvements over its predecessor.
The only notable "improvements" of the Mini 3 include the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and the iOS 8, and the latter is already expected from Apple. Hopefully, the iPad Mini 4 will have more distinct changes and improvements.
