iPhone 4S Released Today

The new Apple iPhone 4S is being released today and buyers have lined up outside of stores around the country to purchase the new device.

This is the first model of the groundbreaking phone to be released following the death of iconic and imagery thinker Steve Jobs.

The new phone will go on sale at 245 Apple stores in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the U.K and will be available in 22 more countries by the end of the month.

The new iPhone looks exactly like the iPhone 4 on the outer shell. However, from the inside the phone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera, a faster downloading speed, and it comes with Siri, personal assistant software.

The phone also offers over 200 more new features that the iPhone 4 did not have and Apple describes the new iPhone as “the most amazing iPhone yet.”

Although many Apple fans were disappointed that Apple ultimately did not release a next generation iPhone 5, pre-orders for the iPhone 4S topped 1 million in the first 24 hours, a 66 percent increase over pre-orders of the iPhone 4.

Some commentators are speculating that the massive interest in the phone may come as a result of Apple losing its iconic leader.

According to CNN, some diehard Apple fans believe that 4S actually stands for “Steve,” although it is unlikely considering the development of the phone occurred while Job’s was still CEO of the company.

Meanwhile, Apple has had a busy week with the company having just released its latest operating system the iOS 5 on Wednesday.

The new system was enhanced with more than 200 new features and with the new operating system purchasers of the iPhone 4S will be able to streamline the way they access and share data between their multiple Apple devices.
