iPhone 5 Release Date: Android Phones Vs. iPhone 4S Part 1

Apple loyalists were disappointed with the iPhone 4S, because it was not drastically redesigned, and many experts are comparing it to Android's best.

Despite disappointed customers, the iPhone 4S still sold 4 million units in four days.

Shortly after the 4S launched, Google announced its upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich operating system that will be released pre-loaded on Samsung’s new Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

According to FoxNews, Apple delivers an easy to use row of icons on the iPhone 4S that cater to first-time smartphone owners. The new iOS 5 also has an improved Notifications area that rivals Android’s system.

FoxNews also reported that Android allows for more flexibility with its interface. On the Galaxy S2, the user can toggle the wireless radios on and off in the notifications area. Google’s operating system is more customizable, but iPhone’s is much “simpler to use. “

Multitasking is also “simpler” on the iPhone 4S, because it is easy to switch between applications. Shutting them down is as easy as pressing and holding the screen and tapping the “X” next to their icons.

Android makes using multiple applications “slightly more complicated” by making the user long-press the home button to see a list of running apps. Google promises to improve this experience with the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

In terms of screen size, the iPhone 4S has a smaller display compared to most Android handsets that boast 4-inch screens and up.
