iPhone 5 Release Date: Apple Offers Cheaper Upgraded iTouch and iPod Nano

At yesterday's "Let's Talk iPhone", Apple revealed that its line of "iTouch" and "iPod Nano" models will be receiving substantial upgrades and will be offered at cheaper prices.

The "iTouch" will retain its A4 processor and 960*640 "retina" screen, but it will now come with some brand new features.

Apple’s new iOS 5, its advanced mobile operating system, will now run media players and include over 200 new features. Some of those features will be iMessage instant messaging, iCloud services, Game Center, Notifications and wireless synching "iTunes."

The digital device will come in two colors: black and white. Prices for the "iTouch" start at $199.

As for Apple's "iPod Nano", it will not sport a 240x240 pixels screen resolution along with a redesigned user interface. It also comes with a built-in pedometer, bigger icons and 18 different clock-face designs. For those who still have last year’s "iPod Nano" model, you can get all these features for free via the new software update.

The new "iPod Nano" will be offered in these new colors: silver, graphite, blue, green, orange, pink and red. They will be offered at price of $129, down from its previous price of $149.

Other Apple media player products will get price cuts for the upcoming holiday season. The "iPod Shuffle" will go for $49 and the160GB "iPod Classic" model will cost $249.

Apple’s line of free cloud services, including iTunes in the Cloud, Photo Stream and Documents in the Cloud, will now work seamlessly with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC. The service will automatically and wirelessly store content and store it to all of Apple's devices. When content changes on one device, all of the other devices will be updated automatically and wirelessly.

Apple noted in its media event yesterday that they have managed to sell 320 million music players so far.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, said yesterday that “iPod has revolutionized the way we listen to music and with over 320 million sold, iPod is the world’s most popular music player."
