iPhone 5 Release Date: Cases Already Available From AT&T and China (VIDEO)

Several reports have surfaced that point to AT&T already having iPhone 5 cases in their possession.

These rumors have led many to believe that the next generation smartphone from Apple will indeed be the iPhone 5, next to the expected iPhone 4S upgrade.

BGR.com recently leaked an image of the iPhone 5 cases. Three different case models that were reportedly made by manufacturer Case-Mate are seen in the image. These supposed iPhone 5 cases have now made it onto cellphone carrier AT&T's inventory, ahead of Apple's Oct. 4 event. There is still speculation among experts and analysts that two new iPhone models will be revealed at the event, but the hope for a new iPhone 5 is much more anticipated.

A Wall Street Analyst expects to see the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S on display at Apple's Oct. 4 event. Chris Whitmore, a Deutsche Bank analyst, had this to say in a letter to his clients: "Specifically, we expect an iPhone 5 with aluminum uni-body construction, better camera and slightly larger screen size as well as a cost-down iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S."

The iPhone 5 is expected to come with revolutionary voice recognition features, an improved message notifications system and access to the iCloud service. The smartphone will run on iOS 5. Added compatibility with applications such as Newsstand and iMessage are also making their way onto the smartphone. These add-on's will join the purported list of 200 other features for the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 4S is predicted to be an upgrade to the current iPhone model.

A recently leaked video has also surfaced on Chinese blog M.I.C Gadget showing several iPhone 5 cases already being sold. The reason for this apparent leak? Some have reasoned that an Apple employee may have leaked an iPhone 5 prototype to a company outsider. The outsider may have crafted a dummy mold out of the model given to them in order to craft cases for the smartphone before its big reveal.
