iPhone 5 Release Date: Radio Shack Leak Shows iPhone 5 With $50 Price Tag

The Apple "Let's Talk iPhone" media event is just one day away and speculation is once again leaning towards there being an iPhone 5 on the Sprint network.

Tech blog Engadget has reportedly obtained a screen shot of a Radio Shack inventory list, which details that the store will be selling the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 5, powered on the Sprint network.

Despite the carrier continuously denying that it will be powering the Apple smartphone, many commentators have noted that Sprint seems to be preparing for the launch of a highly coveted phone.

Previous reports have noted that Sprint has recently updated its smartphone termination fee to $350 and decreased its return window policy from 30 days to 14 days.

Both the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg have also reported that the iPhone 5 will in fact be released in conjunction with the AT&T and Verizon iPhones.

WSJ says that customers can expect not only the iPhone 5 on Sprint's network but the iPhone 4 as well at a generously discounted price.

Bloomberg says that customers can expect Sprint to maintain its unlimited data plan for the iPhone 5.

Many have speculated that the iPhone 5 will be priced similarly to the current iPhone 4, which sells for $199 with a two-year contract for the 16GB and $299 with a two-year contract for the 32GB.

However, another curious aspect of this leak is that the inventory list has the iPhone 5 priced at just $50, not only for the Sprint network, but for the AT&T and Verizon Wireless networks as well.

Commentators suggest that the inventory list could be a mock up that Radio Shack is using to prepare for the selling of the iPhone 5.
