When asked to perform a task the downed Siri responds: “What can I help you with? I am really sorry about this, but I cannot take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while. There is something wrong, and I can’t answer your questions right now. Please try again in a little while.”

ISmashPhone.com also reported on the matter: “It seems that Siri is down. According to some of the tweets we’ve been reading (as well as our own experience), people aren’t having much luck with the service right now,” wrote iSmashPhone.

Many iPhone 4S users have tweeted their frustrations on the social networking site.

“Oh dear, Siri is down. In other news Microsoft’s TellME is working fine,” tweeted TomWarren.

Shervin tweeted: “She probably got tired of all the silly questions.”

Jaybeestro tweeted: “Siri network has been down for two hours. Who knew I’d become so attached.”

For some Twitter users, such as Deborah Acosta, speaking commands to Siri comes without any complications as many others claim Siri has gone on the Fritz.

“Strange, mine is working fine,” tweeted DeborahAcosta.

Siri is working fine in many other countries despite this outage in the United States, according to 9to5Mac.

Apple has not made an official statement regarding the system’s recent failure.
