The iPhone 5S price dropped to just $440 for those looking to purchase the handset without a contract.
Virgin Mobile is currently offering the 16GB version at this low price as the device normally costs over $600 with no agreement.
The iPhone 5S is available in three colors, gold, silver and black and it normally costs $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 32GB on-contract.
The device comes with a new A7 processor and is the world's first true 64-bit smartphone. It also features the new M7 motion sensor chip which is able to detect if the user is walking or driving and works with apps related to the function being performed at a given time. The chip continuously measures motion data, comes equipped with an accelerometer, gyroscope and compass, and is useful for a new generation of health and fitness apps.
The new iPhone 5S features a battery life greater than what was found on the previous model: 10 hours of talk time, Wi-Fi or LTE browsing, and 250 hours of standby time.
The camera is greatly improved on the new handset as it automatically sets the white balance and exposure before users even snap a picture. It features a Dynamic Local Tone Map that has Autofocus matrix metering. When a user takes a photo, multiple pictures are captured and the device produces the best possible one out of the lot.
True Tone Flash helps the camera on the iPhone 5S as it improves the color and lighting when the flash function is used on the device's camera. Apple showed examples of it during the unveiling event and it seemed to provide users with a more authentic look in their photos of others.
An advanced fingerprint sensor is also available on the iPhone 5S in the form of TouchID.
