The iPhone 5S will feature an upgraded camera and processor and is now expected to ship to retailers during Q3.

The next-generation components for the smartphone will begin shipping at the end of May and that the device could show up in stores during the fall, DigiTimes reported. Other reports pointed to a summer release; but DigiTimes claims show that being too soon.

The handset will apparently come with a higher-end processor and a higher-end megapixel camera, which matches with some of the older reports.

Apple is rumored to be releasing two smartphone models this year: a low-cost device and the iPhone 6.

KGI Securites analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently made a prediction that Apple was going to launch the cheap iPhone in 4-6 different colors.

The company will offer the low-cost device in different colors in order to mimic the success of the iPod Touch.

Kuo also stated that the low-cost iPhone will feature a 4-inch display, but its exterior will be made from a super-thin plastic casing mixed with glass fiber. This will make it stronger and thinner than typical smartphone plastic casings, according to Kuo.

He also predicted that Apple will have a fingerprint sensor in the iPhone 5S, which will be released later this year.

Kuo agreed with DigiTimes' report, stating that he thinks the main difference between the iPhone 5 and 5S will be the processor and camera. The new version will run on the faster A7 application processor, will feature a camera equipped with Smart Flash, will come with a fingerprint chip under the Home button, will have a plastic and fiberglass frame making it lighter and slimmer, and will come in more than two colors.
