iPhone 6 Pre-orders News for AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile: Breaks Records, Surpasses 4 Million Pre-Order Mark

Apple has shattered records once again as the Cupertino-based company announced on Monday that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which were launched on Sept. 9, had a record number of pre-orders.

More than 4 million devices were sold within the first 24 hours after the phones were launched, according to Forbes.com. This reportedly beats the number of orders placed on the first day when the iPhone 5 came out two years ago, which had about 2 million orders at that time.

Analysts predict that the iPhone 6, with its 4.7-inch screen, and the iPhone 6 Plus, which is equipped with a 5.5-inch screen, could be the best selling phones from Apple yet. The phones will go on sale on Friday, Sept. 19.

Due to the demand for the new smartphones, mobile networks have been busy as they came up with their respective promotions for their subscribers to be able to get their hands on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Verizon's new promotion is letting their subscribers upgrade up to two months early, and with that deal, they will be able to get any of the two iPhone 6 versions. They are also offering an iPhone 6 free to subscribers who trade in their old phones for a two-year contract.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile is trying to entice other companies' subscribers by offering a free trial using the iPhone. Customers will get to try a T-Mobile powered iPhone handset for a week, and it is absolutely free of charge. Eventually, the network plans to switch the offer from the 5S to the iPhone 6. A T-Mobile spokesperson confirmed this with Recode, but said that several factors could affect the timeline, and that includes product availability.

As for Sprint, the company is offering an "iPhone for Life" plan, which will let customers get a new version of the iPhone every two years. The service costs $70 a month, includes unlimited data, and customers don't need to make an additional payment for the phone because they are actually renting it.

With offers like these, mobile networks are clearly counting on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to boost sales and increase their number of subscribers.

"iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement.
