iPhone 6 Rumors: Touch ID Fingerprint Sensor Displayed in New Photos

The Touch ID fingerprint sensor for the upcoming iPhone 6 can be seen in some new photos leaked earlier this week.

The pictures surfaced on Nowhereelse.fr and show that the component is very similar to the one on the iPhone 5s, however, some of the screw holes have been moved to line up with the redesigned metal housing of the device.

Another recent rumor stated that Apple's supplier TSMC has already provided the first batch of fingerprint sensors for the iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. The new versions are supposed to be more durable than the ones found in the iPhone 5s due to an updated manufacturing process that uses tin.

Higher shipments of Touch ID sensors will allow Apple to keep supplies of the iPhone 6 plentiful as last year's shortage of the component created shortages for the previous model.

Last week, another picture of what could be the front frame for the iPhone 6 leaked.

The photo was published by Apple.club.tw and it appeared to be the front LCD frame for the handset. It featured metal shielding that would separate the LCD from the remainder of internals, and a metal bracket covering the home button.

The exact measurements of the frame were not confirmed in the report, however, Apple.club claims that this will be the proper size for the upcoming larger iPhone 6 model.

Other rumors point to the iPhone 6 featuring a special haptic feedback function that creates unique vibrations with device while various tasks are performed.

A Chinese mobile phone source known as Laoyaoba says that Apple will ship the new smartphone with a tactile feedback linear motor that allows the user to feel subtle vibrations depending on different app scenarios or with touching different areas on the screen. This new haptic feedback motor will cost twice or three times as much as the vibration motor found on the iPhone 5s.
