iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 5s Comparison: Is It Time for an Upgrade?

The 2014 flagship from Apple was recently released last September and has since then sold for more than 10 million units in less than a week. Owners of the previous version, the iPhone 5S, might be finding themselves wanting the newest handset from the Cupertino-based tech giant. Should you upgrade or not?

Here's a comparative review between Apple's 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 6 came out with a curved aluminum casing, colored with gold or light/dark silver and only measures 6.8mm thick.

The iPhone 5S also has aluminum for its case and a gold or light/dark silver color but is 7.6mm thick.

Display
The newest Apple flagship's display screen came out as a big surprise for most critics and fans where it boasts 4.7-inch 1334 x 750, "Retina HD" LCD display with Ion-strengthened glass and an improved polarizer.

The 2013 iPhone reiteration fares well with 4-inch 1136 x 640 IPS LCD display.

Camera
Apple stayed with their 8MP rear camera specs with 1/3.06-inch sensor, true tone flash, f/2.2 aperture dual-LED flash and phase detection.

The iPhone 5S, meanwhile, has a slightly bigger aperture size (F2.4) and camera sensor size (1/3.2").

Hardware
The iPhone 6 runs with the newly released Apple A8 system chip with dual core, 1400 MHz, 64-bit processor and PowerVR GX6650 graphics processor.

The later version has Apple A6 system chip, dual core 1300 MHZ, Apple Swift processor and PowerVR SGX543MP3 graphics processor.

Battery
Stand-by time, the iPhone 6 could last for up to 10.4 days or 250 hours. Talk time (3G), the phone could run for up to 14 hours.

The iPhone 5S is said to last for only up to 9.4 days or 225 hours and has a talk-time (3G) that could last for 8 hours.

Storage
The iPhone 6 is reportedly available in the market with 16/64/128GB versions.

For the past years, iPhones have been stuck (the iPhone 5S included) in the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB offerings.

Given the details above, should you upgrade to the newly reconstructed iPhone 6 or stay with the conservatively-designed iPhone 5S?
