iPhone 6s News, Rumors: Apple iOS 9 Leak Confirms Force Touch and Other Features Coming for Next-Gen Flagship

Not a week goes by without a new rumor item pointing towards the purported upcoming flagship from Apple, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. Here's the latest that we heard:

A source told 9to5Mac that the next-generation iPhones "will look like an iPhone 6." The big difference however is that the new iPhone will include the earlier reported Force Touch display with haptic feedback feature.

For those who missed it, Apple Watch (and more recently the MacBook Pro range) was introduced with the said functionality where it basically differentiates the pressure being put on the device and translate it in a variety of interactions.

To cater the new feature, the Cupertino-based tech giant is reported to be developing the upcoming reiteration of its mobile OS, the iOS 9, as Force Touch-ready. This will also give way for third party developers to integrate the said feature into their Apple Store apps.

Forbes, among the other tech websites who are following the story, was quick to speculate that one of the obvious functions of the Force Touch on the iPhone 6s would be to enhance user interaction with the camera. As such, one can access burst mode shooting or toggle between camera and video modes by way of changing touch pressure.

For those wondering if the new iOS 9 functionality will be enjoyed by currently existing Apple devices, the publication said that it won't as it requires "a new layer built into the screen" which the older hardware doesn't have.
