iPhone 8 Rumors: Apple to Add Classic Design to Flagship Inspired From Last-Gen Releases

The release of the Apple iPhone 8 will mark the tenth anniversary of the mega-successful smartphone lineup and the Cupertino giant has found the perfect way to celebrate it.

According to ET News, Apple's next flagship smartphone will reportedly sport a "water drop design" featuring a "three-dimensional glass."

This means that the iPhone 8 will feature subtle curves comparable with that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 for a snug grip. Techno Buffalo notes that the smartphone's design could be a blend of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 4.

The change in the appearance of the iPhone 8 is welcome by many users especially since Apple has not updated the look of the handset since the iPhone 6.

It will be interesting to see how Apple incorporates the classic elements of its mega-successful smartphone line into its next-generation offering while still making sure it feels modern.

ET News also claims that the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display on the iPhone 8 will be flat, which is contrary to the reports that it will be curved as well. Whatever the case is, it is unclear at the moment.

More on the specifications and features of the iPhone 8, NDTV says that the next iPhone could feature augmented reality (AR) features, which Apple CEO Tim Cook has always been interested in exploring.

This will reportedly be what the tech giant will use to get ahead of the cutthroat mobile competition and also to keep people interested in the iPhone line.

The iPhone 8 is expected to arrive this September. While waiting, fans can first focus their attention on the (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Boasting a "vibrant red aluminum finish," the new iterations of Apple's current-gen smartphones celebrate the decade partnership of the company and RED.

The smartphones, which will come in 128 GB and 256 GB models, will allow customers to contribute to the Global Fund and "bring the world a step closer to an AIDS-free generation." Fans can read all about the campaign between the collaborators here.
