iPhone SE Vs. iPhone 6S Comparison – Which Is the Better Phone?

This year, one of the world's leading smartphone manufacturers, Apple, unveiled a new iPhone which surprisingly went against the trend of bigger screen size phones. The iPhone SE was introduced by the company at a special press event last March 21 and the phone brought back the smaller sized screen reminiscent of the iPhone 5S but boasted of a more powerful processor and a better camera.

A report in The Verge compared the new iPhone SE with the iPhone 6S because it is said that both phones have the same specs under the hood. The main difference between the two phones is the screen size: the iPhone SE has a 4–inch screen while the iPhone 6S has a slightly larger 4.7-inch screen. Another is the absence of one new feature, 3D Touch on the newer iPhone. This feature is found on the iPhone 6S, which makes for better touch functionality.

The similarities between the two phones can be found primarily under the hood. First off is the processor, as both phones are equipped with Apple's newest processor, the A9 chip. They are also both running on the latest mobile OS, iOS 9.3. The main rear cameras of the iPhone SE and the iPhone 6S are both 12-megapixel shooters which can shoot 4K video. In terms of the front-facing camera however, the iPhone SE is stuck with the 1.2-megapixel front shooter that was present in the iPhone 5S, making it a not so good choice for selfie lovers. Apple Pay and Siri are also available on both devices.

According to another comparison review in Forbes, although the iPhone SE has a smaller battery at 1642 mAh compared to the iPhone 6S' 1715 mAh, its smaller display, a faster processor and the latest OS makes it more efficient in terms of battery use. For users who want this kind of performance in a phone and don't mind the small screen size, the iPhone SE can be a good option.

Neurogadget's comparison review noted that the iPhone SE is more a case of Apple following what its customers wanted rather than showing them something new, which is usually what the company does. In terms of the device's price point, at $399 for a 16GB variant, it is still Apple's lowest priced iPhone which can be another reason why consumers will choose this over another flagship.
