Japanese tech site Macotakara reported today that Apple plans on launching the new iPod Touch and iPod Nano in Japan on that date. However, early supplies are expected to be tight.

Order statuses have also shifted for many customers who pre-ordered the device and now say "preparing for shipment." One customer even stated that his credit card was charged for the device.

This is good news for those who were alarmed by a message posted in Apple's Online Store in Australia that said the shipping date for the iPod Touch was moved from October to "three weeks." The same shift was seen in the New Zealand online store where deliveries were rescheduled for Nov. 2.

However, MacRumors stated that these are new orders that will be delivered after the first batch of pre-orders that were made three or more weeks ago. The shipping estimates also reverted back to October in both the Australian and New Zealand online stores.

The new iPod Touch will come in two different memory capacities, 32GB and 64GB. The latter of these models will cost $399.

The media device features a thinner 6.1mm frame and a 4-inch display, making it the same size as the iPhone 5. It comes with the A5 chip found in the iPhone 4 and is supposed to be seven times faster than previous models. Users should be able to play 40 hours of music and 8 hours of video straight on its battery power.

It also features a 5-megapixel rear camera and a strap, making photography more appealing on the device. It can record video in 1080p and FaceTime in 720p. It can also take panoramic photos. The headphone jack has been moved to the bottom left on the new iPod and it comes with the redesigned Ear Pod headphones Apple debuted at its iPhone 5 event.
