Is Homosexuality a Sin?

Christians are under fire these days from the LGBT community for their personal stand against marriage equality. An Oregon court ordered a bakery to pay $135,000 in damages to a pair of lesbians for refusing to make them a wedding cake. In Australia, gay rights activists are pressuring IBM to get rid of a Christian executive.

With more countries legalizing same-sex marriages and more states passing anti-discrimination laws, individuals of varied sexual orientations have been on the offensive and have used these laws against Christians. It's as if they are taking out years of repressed frustrations on people who disapprove their lifestyle.

LGBTs openly express their antipathy towards God's Word. Bill Condon, director of "Beauty and the Beast" movie, told a magazine interview that he wanted rip pages out of the Bible. This is because the Scripture doesn't mince words on its condemnation of people who sleep with their own gender.

God considers such act an abomination (Leviticus 18:22) that is worthy of the death penalty (20:13). Of course, that is based on the old Mosaic Law, and putting to death gay and lesbian people doesn't apply now. But that doesn't make this distortion of sexuality acceptable to God either.

The Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 warned that men who have sex with men will not inherit God's kingdom while in his letter to the Romans, he included lesbianism in the list of shameful lusts (1:26–27). God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The penalties against sexual depravity may have changed, but His anger towards the act remains.

The insistence of gays and lesbians to maintain their lifestyle has prompted many of them to reject the Bible's authenticity. Unluckily for them, there is archeological evidence proving that the legendary Sodom and Gomorrah did exist. This makes real the accounts found in Genesis 19 on how God destroyed the two cities due to the inhabitants' decadence.
