ISIS News: Kurdish Fighters Beheaded in New Video

On Friday, a video surfaced online showing Kurdish Peshmerga fighters being beheaded by what are believed to be members of the Islamic State forces.

According to CNN, the 15-minute video includes the beheading of several prisoners wearing orange jumpsuits in what could be one of the most chilling videos yet released by the ISIS as a warning was addressed to U.S. President Barack Obama before the beheadings took place.

At the end of the video, the statement "Peshmerga soldiers that Americans came down to rescue" was flashed in Arabic. An English-speaking ISIS representative also spoke in the video, letting the United States know that the Islamic State won't take the U.S.-led coalition easily as war and violence continue to persist in Iraq and Syria.

The outlet notes, though, that the spokesman featured in the video is not "Jihadi John," whose real name is believed to be Mohammed Emwazi. Jihadi John is one of the biggest names in the history of the Islamic State as he has become a hot target by the military since he has murdered Westerners, including Americans and Japanese hostages.

Dindar Zebari, a spokesman for the Kurdish regional government, said, "ISIS respects no form of human rights. Our message to them is that we will finish them. We hold 215 prisoners and we treat them according to international human rights laws."

On the other hand, Zebari clarified that while they have arrested prisoners acquainted with the terror group, they are not like the extremists who execute their prisoners. He said there are 85 prisoners in their custody, all of which are believed to be associated with the terrorists.

In the recent raid conducted by the U.S.-led coalition, more than 20 ISIS fighters were killed while six were captured, as reported by the Kurdistan regional office at the time of the raid.

The Kurdish Peshmerga is the military troop that protects the Kurds, an ethnic tribe that resides in the northern parts of Iraq. The militia has been in numerous clashses with the ISIS, in which many among their people have also become victims to the Islamic State's violence.
