'It' Sequel Premiere, Cast News, Spoilers: Jaeden Lieberher Wants Ewan McGregor to Play Adult Bill; Chapter 2 Will Have Flashbacks
The actor who portrayed Bill in Andy Muschietti's adaptation of Stephen King's "It," says it would be interesting to have Ewan McGregor play his character's adult version in the sequel. Meanwhile, "It: Chapter Two" will have flashbacks.
In a recent interview with Variety, Lieberher — who portrayed the stuttering boy whose brother Georgie (Jackson Robert Scott) was taken by Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) — thinks it would be nice to have McGregor play his character as an adult in the sequel.
"I think Ewan McGregor would be interesting," said Lieberher.

Although he thinks that McGregor "might be too old" to play adult Bill, he believes that the Hollywood actor could still pull it off.
"I love Ewan McGregor, and I think he's a great actor. I think he could play Bill very well," added Lieberher.
However, there haven't been any updates whether New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. have begun searching for the actors that will play the adult "losers" from "It." This is because they haven't really given the green light, Barbara Muschietti — Andy's sister and producing partner — confirmed with Entertainment Weekly.
But she did confirm that "It: Chapter Two" is already under development.
Meanwhile, Barbara shared that the "It" sequel will still feature the young "losers" — Bill, Richie (Finn Wolfhard), Beverly (Sophia Lillis), Jack (Eddie Kaspbrak), Stanley (Wyatt Oleff), and Mike (Chosen Jacobs) — in the form of flashbacks.
Andy says that having flashbacks will help set the storyline better.
"If we're telling the story of adults, we are going to have flashbacks that take us back to the '80s and inform the story in the present day," the director explained.
Aside from that, Barbara stressed that the flashbacks with the kids will be a significant factor to the "It" sequel.
"They're a very big part of the action," Andy also added.
