'iZombie' News, Update: Season 2 to See Liv and Blaine Teaming Up

Rose McIver's brilliant zombie character Liv will find enough reasons to finally let go and have to align herself with David Anders' Blaine when the second season of The CW's popular TV series "iZombie" hits the small screen in the coming months.

The report from TV Guide cited show creator Rob Thomas saying that "Blaine and Liv will figure out somewhere reasonably early in Season 2 that someone is eliminating zombies and that will make very strange bedfellows out of the two of them."

The situation will force the two to realize that they actually "need each other's help before all zombies are taken out."

Thomas added that while Liv joins hand with Blaine in an effort to stop Vaughn Du Clark's (Steven Webber) plan, she will also have to deal with Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) who will be seen working against one of her allies.

"[Clive's] great white whale of Season 2 is trying to find out what really happened at Meat Cute," Thomas informed TV Guide. "The Seattle Police Department is going to find a very easy explanation and roll with that, but Clive is pretty convinced that Major and another character - Blaine's name gets written on the wall in blood if you remember - [were involved], and Clive is trying to put all the pieces together over the course of Season 2."

In a later interview with ComicBook.com (via Screen Rant) the showrunner teased that the "big storyline of Season Two" will be revolving around the events of the Season 1 finale, that is with the issue of Du Clark eliminating the Seattle zombies.

In the casting side of the news, Design N Trend reported that Peyton (Aly Michalka), Liv's best friend and roommate will be returning for this season. But fans won't be expecting warm reunion hugs as the two had already fell out of each other after Peyton finds out that Liv is actually a zombie.

However, Liv may soon find new BFF named Bethany. Entertainment Weekly reported earlier this month that this "personal shopper" would be involved in a case that Clive is handling.

"iZombie" Season 2 premieres October 6 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
