'iZombie' Season 3 Air Date, Spoilers: Major to Land Job With 'Sinister' Zombie Army?

"iZombie" returns next month with all-new episodes pitting Liv (Rose McIver) and her gang against a new batch of criminal cases. And now that the previously clueless detective, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin), is in on the secret, how will this change his dynamics with the team?

The official trailer for season 3 reveals that although Clive may still have a few qualms about it, their crime-solving business will continue as usual. Only this time, the newly exonerated Major (Robert Buckley) will be on hand to assist from time to time.

In the case featured in the trailer, Liv asks Major to eat a particular victim's brain, to which Major responds that he may not be in the best condition for a teenage girl brain at the moment. What follows is a montage of humorous scenes wherein Major becomes a slave to the ways and mannerisms of the girl whose brain he just ate, all for the sake of solving a crime.

Could this be the reason why Major decides to look for work elsewhere? According to the official synopsis for the upcoming season's first episode titled "Heaven Just Got a Little Bit Smoother," Major will still suffer discrimination even after being exonerated for his past crimes as the Chaos Killer. And there is only one company that will hire him: Vivian's (Andrea Savage) Fillmore-Graves Enterprises, which is a private military contractor that hires and employs a small army of zombies in preparation for the day that humans learn of their existence.

During the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel last year, actress McIver said that "Liv is very conflicted" about whether or not to accept Vivian's invitation to join her army.

"This is a bunch of zombies she didn't know about," McIver said, further adding that the army has a "sinister feel" to it.

On the other hand, series anti-hero Blaine (David Anders) finds himself being accused of lying. Could this have something to do with his alleged amnesia?

"iZombie" season 3 episode 1 airs on Tuesday, April 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
