Jake Owen Welcomes Baby Girl, Tops Charts

Country music singer Jake Owen had even more to celebrate this Thanksgiving as his wife gave birth to the couple's first child on Thursday.

"Today is the greatest day of my life," wrote the "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" singer on Twitter along with a photo of himself smiling with the baby. "Welcome Olive Pearl Owen. 6 lbs 3 oz Turkey Baby! Happy Thanksgiving."

Owen and Lacey Buchanan welcomed Olive Pearl on Thanksgiving Day in Nashville, Tennessee. The child is named after the singer's grandmother.

"Lets all hang out tonight… It will be my 'Welcome Baby Olive Pearl To The World @StageIt show,'" Owen later added to Twitter. "You coming??"

Moreover, the singer confirmed the news with several media outlets, and insinuated that his daughter will go by her middle name.

"Lacey and I are so excited to start our own family," Owen told People magazine. "We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her."

Owen, 30, married Buchanan, 22, in May 2012 during a ceremony in Florida. They met on the set of his music video for the song "Eight Second Ride." Buchanan has also appeared in his music video for "Barefoot Blue Jean Night."

The singer had surprised his girlfriend by asking her to marry him during a concert in his hometown of Vero, Florida in April.

"I'm a happy man," the singer tweeted at the time. "Life is complete."

On Monday, Owen updated fans again.

"Didn't think my world could get any better," he posted. "Having a child and a #1 song in the same week is something I'll never forget. THANK YOU ALL! Wow."

Owen's song "The One That Got Away" reached number one on Country Music Television's charts this week.

The track comes from the singer's latest studio album "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" which has also seen the chart-topping title track as well as "Alone With You."
