James Bond 24 Movie News, Update: Script Getting Polished, OST Singer Chosen?

Release date news about the upcoming 24th James Bond film suggests that the initial filming production is set to start before this year ends, just in time for an October 2015 UK release, according to reports.

The film will once again see the acts of English actor Daniel Craig reprising his role as Agent 007, the fourth since the 2006 "Casino Royale," Den of Geek reported.

Screen Rant meanwhile reported that "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes will also return on the helmer's chair for the upcoming installment, which is currently without an official title.

The site said that the delay for the production was brought by Mendes' busy schedule as he was seen committing to other projects this past year.

The other reason for delay is also about the script which, as found out, required so much tinkering beyond what was anticipated. Just recently, another name came into the crew member's list to assist the polishing task.

The New Yorker pointed out screenwriter and playwright Jez Butterworth consulting with Mendes and Bond actor about the James Bond draft. The draft was first penned by screenwriter John Logan then passed along to the two regular scribes in the franchise, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

In related news, the New York Post also reported that the artist to sing the next James Bond OST has been chosen.

However, a representative from the British singer Sam Smith told the Post that the deal remains "not confirmed." Singer Lana Del Rey had also been rumored for the musical role.
