Initial reports however indicated that production for the still untitled sequel will begin on Dec. 8 with the confirmed reprisal of actor Daniel Craig as the agent James Bond. Alongside with him are Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes who are expected to once again play as Miss Moneypenny, agent Q, and agent M, respectively.

Further cast rumors that came out earlier this week suggested that Andrew Scott, known as the supervillain Moriarty in popular detective drama "Sherlock," could be in the film as well.

According to Mirror.co.uk, the 38-year-old actor will play "another baddie" in the highly anticipated 007 flick alongside another would-be villain to be starred by Christoph Waltz.

"Andrew was hand-picked for a role in the new Bond movie after film bosses loved his star turn in Sherlock," an insider for the publication was quoted as saying. "Casting directors thought he was perfect to play a baddie and they wanted to use his existing Sherlock profile -- and amp it up to the next level."

"James Bond" 24 will be made under the direction of Sam Mendes and is set to hit the theaters on October 2015.
