Beyonce and Jay Z are a loving couple despite reports trying to prove otherwise, according to one of the singer's leading backup dancers.
Beyoncé, the 32-year-old singer, is touring the country with her husband and rap mogul Jay Z for their joint "On The Run" tour. Ashley Everett, the 32-year-old singer's leading dancer, believes that the couple is transparent when performing on tour together.
"It shows the love, it shows the affection. The love, the hate, the relationship," Everett told "The Insider" recently. "Real things that go on in relationships."
While media outlets take time to draw conclusions based on anonymous sources saying that the pair are only married for business purposes, while speculating about her lyrics and social media posts, Everett believes the public is misconstruing things.
"I think after a certain amount of time, there's only so much a person can take," Everett told The Insider. "She's expressed it through her art and through her music and that's her outlet."
Earlier this summer Beyonce began to fuel breakup rumors on her joint tour when she appeared in what looked like a wedding gown to belt out her ballad "Resentment" with some new lyrics.
Instead of singing, "I couldn't do it for you like your mistress could," the singer may have had a specific person in mind when using a derogatory term.
"I'll always remember feeling like I was no good … Like I couldn't do it for you like that wack b---- could," she sang, according to HollywoodLife.com.
While Beyonce and Jay Z reportedly began their relationship around 2002 when they collaborated on "Bonnie & Clyde," the "Resentment" song previously spoke about being with someone for six years. However, Beyonce seemed to make the lyrics more personal to her own situation.
"Been ridin' with you for twelve years," she sang.
In the song, Beyonce also initially sang about having to look at her husband's mistress continually, "and see she's had half of me." However, Beyonce also changed those lyrics.
"I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she's had half of me," she sang at her concert. "She ain't even half of me. That b---- will never be."
However, the singer has since attempted to shut down those rumors by posting happy images with her husband and their 2-year-old daughter recently saying that her favorite color is "Jay Z Blue" on Instagram.
