Back in 2004, during his 'Best of Both Worlds' tour with R&B singer R Kelly, Jay-Z changed the line-up during the middle of the concert after Kelly left at the beginning of the show due to his claims that he was assaulted with pepper spray.

Guests in attendance which included rappers T.I. and Ja Rule, and singer Usher decided to help Jay-Z out and entertain the crowd by performing some of their hit songs. None of the performers were scheduled to hit the stage and Jay-Z was able to save the show by employing them for part of the night.

Since that time he has made surprise appearances with the rock/rap band Linkin Park and even ended a long time rivalry with fellow New York rapper Nas during the 2006 'I Declare War' concert.
