Jay Z, Beyonce Decide Not To Be Full Vegans

Beyonce and Jay Z seem to have officially ended their vegan diet.

Jay Z took to his Life + Times website just before his 44th birthday on Dec 4 to let fans know about his decision to go on a spiritual cleanse with his wife and singer Beyonce in the form of a 22 day vegan challenge. However, a Miami chef is revealing that the pair were recently dining on some seafood at his Seasalt & Pepper restaurant.

Alfredo Alvarez, the Seasalt & Pepper chef, created some pescatarian dishes for the 32-year-old singer and her rap mogul husband. According to ABC News, Alvarez made the pair black cod casserole, tuna and salmon tartare, tuna sashimi, octopus planche and lobster risotto.

The news comes after Jay Z questioned what the couple would do after their vegan challenge which ended on Christmas.

"..You can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse," he wrote on his website. "..I don't know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We'll see…"

It seems the couple decided to nix the full plant-based diet option, although they were praised by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals organization, known as PETA for their efforts.

"PETA praises Jay Z and Beyoncé for getting animals off their plates for 22 days and hopes that this great spiritual exercise will open their eyes to the suffering of all animals-including the wonderful ones who are killed not for the table but for a coat, a belt, or a bag," a PETA representative said, according to Yahoo! omg! reports.

The rapper, born Shawn Carter, spoke about the decision to embark on the vegan challenge in the first place.

"Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit," the rap mogul wrote on his blog, Life + Times. "On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based."
