The rap mogul reportedly sold his share of the Brooklyn Nets, the NBA team in which he owns 1/15th of a percentage. The move put the rapper-turned-businessman in the position to start his new sports management company called Roc Nation Sports, according to Forbes reports.

However, the rapper is looking to expand his agency beyond just basketball. Carter is reportedly looking to sign a top rated player in the upcoming 2013 NHL Draft, Seth Jones.

"When Seth comes to the NHL draft [in Newark, NJ] in June, his family, agents at CAA and Roc Nation are going to have a powwow to see if he'll sign with them," a source reportedly told The New York Post.

Although he has yet to sign any athlete in the NHL or NFL, Carter has already signed an MLB player.

Robinson Cano, New York Yankees second baseman, announced that he would sign on with Carter's company earlier this month.

"At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors on and off the field," Cano said in a statement obtained by ESPN earlier this month. "I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates."
