Jennifer Aniston and her fiance Justin Theroux reportedly had an awkward run-in with the actress' ex-boyfriend John Mayer on Wednesday.
The former "Friends" star, 44, and Theroux, 41, were reportedly enjoying a nice meal with friends at West Hollywood's Sunset Tower before Mayer, 35, arrived. The troubled singer was allegedly seated just two tables away, according to Us magazine.
Fellow patrons claim Aniston, whose group allegedly included actress Drew Barrymore TV host Chelsea Handler, did not speak with Mayer, but the singer reportedly acknowledged her presence. The actress dated Mayer on-and-off from 2008-2009 and was reportedly left heartbroken after their abrupt split, which critics suspected may be why she ignored him.
"John suddenly stopped calling her or returning her emails and when she would finally catch up with him, he'd say: 'I've been so busy with work. I'm sorry I haven't had time to call you back,'" a source told Star magazine.
"Jen was fuming. There he was, telling her he didn't have time for her and yet his page was filled with Twitter updates. Every few hours, sometimes minutes, he'd update with some stupid line. And in her mind, she was like 'He has time for all this Twittering, but he can't send me a text, an email, make a call?,'" the insider explained.
Aniston appears to have moved on with Theroux and she is currently planning their highly anticipated upcoming wedding ceremony.
The couple, who announced their engagement in 2012, has designed their own wedding bands and Aniston is narrowing down dresses. They are said to be anxiously counting down the days before their big day.
"It will be a small affair with their closest friends. Jen seems more confident than ever and they've become a great team," a source told People magazine. "[Jennifer] is crazy about Justin and can't wait to be his wife!"
Aniston is said to have invited approximately 50 guests to her and Theroux's upcoming nuptials, which is less than half of the 200 guests that attended her 2000 wedding to actor Brad Pitt. The actress will reportedly take Theroux's last name.
"She plans on privately changing her name to Theroux. She like the way it sounds and jokes that [Jennifer Theroux] sounds very posh," the source said.
"They really seem to have perfect chemistry, like they complete each other. There's a perfect balance," the insider continued. "He was doting when she turned to him [at the Oscars], but the overall vibe was simply fun and effortless."
