Jennifer Lawrence Engaged? Nicholas Hoult 'Asked Her to Marry Him,' Report Claims

Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult recently confirmed they are back together and an unconfirmed report claims the couple may be engaged.

The pair, who began dating in 2011, appeared to confirm their reconciliation by kissing at the 71st Golden Globes on Jan 12. The "The Hunger Games" star, 23, and Hoult, 24, previously split in January 2013 before reuniting in July and sources claim the British actor proposed over the holidays.

"Jennifer is walking on air. She's madly in love with Nicholas and is the happiest she's ever been," a source told OK! magazine.

"Jen likes to live a relatively modest private life. She knows news of the engagement will make that harder if not impossible," the source explained. "And she is obsessed with her privacy."

The Hollywood stars first became romantically involved after filming their 2011 film "X-Men: First Class." In December Lawrence reportedly invited Hoult to spend Christmas with her family in Lexington, Kentucky.

"Jennifer is extremely close to her family. When she isn't filming or promoting her movies, she spends a lot of time at her parents' house," the insider revealed.

"All the family had gathered in the living room, enjoying the night before Christmas when Nick asked for everyone's attention and began giving a speech to Jennifer," the source continued. "He stood up and took her hand, helping her to stand up as well. When she was on her feet, he knelt down and pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked her to marry him."

Hoult, who is set to star alongside "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart in fantasy film "Equals," recently gushed over Lawrence's career success. She won best supporting actress at the Golden Globes last week.

"She deserves it all," Hoult told the New York Daily News. "It's fun to watch."

The actor revealed that Lawrence read the "Equals" script with him and enjoyed it.

"We both loved the script. It's epic in proportion, but centered on these specific relationships," he said.
