According to Lopez, her show will be a high-energy and multifaceted party entertainment mix, combining her well-known "Jenny from the Block" dance, Latin, pop and hip hop music, a show she says she has always dreamed of headlining and has been preparing for her whole life.

Lopez is planning on combining explosive dance numbers with ballads, funk, extravagant costumes and high-technology stage sets and lighting.

She will begin her residency on January 20, 2016 at the AXIS Theater, with live shows scheduled for January, February, May and June. Her first 20 performances are slated to go on sale Saturday with ticket prices ranging from $50 to $219.

Once topping the R&B and pop charts with her back-to-back singles, the "On the Floor" singer suffered some musical setbacks for the last 10 years until getting the judge's slot in "American Idol" in January 2011.

Lopez earned her first high profile gig as a Fly Girl dancer in 1991's "In Living Color," where she was a series regular for three years. She gained popularity for her first leading role in the 1997 "Selena" biopic, playing the titular role of the late Mexican-American performer, Selena Quintanilla-Perez.

Lopez's 2001 film, "The Wedding Planner" and her second album, J.Lo made her the first artist to have a number one film and album within the same week.

Her Las Vegas residency has her following in the footsteps of fellow pop artists, Mariah Carey and Britney Spears.
