Jennifer Lopez, 43-year-old actress and singer, has been scrutinized for her relationship with 25-year-old Casper Smart and admits that she was initially wary of the romance.

Lopez recently appeared on the cover of People magazine where she admitted to questioning choreographer Smart about his desire to be involved with a woman 18 years his senior.

"I ask him, 'Why don't you go find a young girlfriend and get out of here? What do you want with me?' And you think, 'How long is this gonna be,'" Lopez admitted. "You think, 'Okay, in 10 years I'm going to be like this and you're going to be like that' and … men at that age are … I think all different things."

However, the entertainer and mother of two revealed that she has learned to live in the moment with her current boyfriend.

"The truth is we don't know what's going to happen. We're loving this moment right now," Lopez revealed to the publication. "We make each other happy."

Lopez, who married her children's father singer Marc Anthony in 2004, announced their divorce last year after one year of separation. The entertainer credits Smart for helping her overcome the ordeal.

"I just got out of a big, heavy, devastating thing, and he's helped me heal," she told People of her 25-year-old boyfriend. "He's been there for me."

Although Lopez was married three times, she has no regrets about the choices that she has made in life.

"I don't regret those things – that's who I am," Lopez revealed to People. "But at least now I'm at a point where I have to recognize that these choices and things that happen are partly because of me and my decisions and I have to be more careful. So I am being more careful."

In the September issue of InStyle Magazine, Lopez opened up about her outlook on love.

"I live by the mantra that God doesn't give you anything you can't handle," she told the magazine. "It's not until something bad or difficult happens that you really get to grow."
