McCarthy appears on the January/February edition of the magazine revealing a six-pack of abs.

"I feel really kind of honored," McCarthy said of appearing on Shape, "because I am turning 40 next week."

The single mother manages to work out five times a week although she admitted that sometimes, she may not have more than 10 minutes.

"I get to work out about five times a week. I switch things up because I can't do the same thing over and over again. I'd lose my mind," McCarthy told the magazine adding, "If I only have ten minutes I definitely have a go-to workout and that is to do lunges, sit ups, and push ups.

While McCarthy tries to keep healthy she also revealed that sometimes she has to cheat. Her go to cheat snack is a chocolate milkshake, she said, which she considers to be a comfort food because her mother used to give them to her as a child when she wasn't feeling well.

But for a healthy snack, McCarthy also added that she was fond of eating watermelon.

"Watermelon. It helps you retain water," the star told the magazine. "Its yummy and really filling."
