Jenny McCarthy and Brian Urlacher Split

Model and actress Jenny McCarthy has split from her boyfriend of three months, Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.

"Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship," McCarthy, 39, told People magazine in an August 16 statement.

"I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for him. Go, Bears!" she added.

McCarthy, who graced the July/August Playboy cover, affirmed that she was dating the star athlete a mere three months ago, telling People: ""I can confirm that yes, it's true, we are dating. Go, Bears – that's all I'll say."

McCarthy took the relationship so seriously that she even went to the extent of moving with her ten-year-old son, Evan, from Los Angeles back to her hometown of Chicago to be closer to Urlacher.

"She will not be in the city, but not far from where she grew up and has many friends and family nearby," McCarthy's representative told E! News last month, before the split.

"She will commute to L.A. and New York for work,' the rep added.

Evidently, in spite of all the effort, McCarthy's relationship didn't work out as successfully as she had hoped.

As The Christian Post previously reported, McCarthy, a mother of one, has had past trouble in the love department.

"I don't care if they have a big nose. I don't care if they're bald," McCarthy said again in a November interview with People.

"[I just want someone who's] really sweet and who's a perfect reflection of who I am now," she added.

McCarthy has had trouble maintaining a long relationship ever since she split with comedic actor Jim Carrey in 2010 after a five year relationship.

McCarthy has plenty of upcoming prospects to keep her distracted from the woes of breaking up. Along with gracing the cover of Playboy 20 years after she first posed for the men's magazine, McCarthy will also be hosting NBC's reality show "Love in the Wild," coming this Fall.
