Jeremy Lin Stars in Spoof Video 'Space Jam' 3 Anime Edition: Icons Naruto, Goku and Sailor Moon Also Featured

Basketball Player Released YouTube Video on Tuesday

Apparently, "Space Jam 2" is in the works and is said to feature Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.

While fans are waiting for the movie's release, Jeremy Lin, together with YouTube star Ryan Higa, introduced an idea that has not been thought of yet. They created "Space Jam 3" which features anime icons like Naruto, Sailor Moon, Yugi of Yu-Gi-Oh and Goku of Dragon Ball Z.

"Space Jam 3" of course is not a sequel to the movie franchise, but rather an anime version of the film which is a skit that has the original film's ways but with anime tropes.

Lin, Brooklyn Nets' point guard, recently revealed a video that will fill the void for Space Jam fans for the meantime. Furthermore, with this latest masterpiece by Lin, he continues to be called NBA's YouTuber.

NBA YouTuber

He previously made a parody video about fitting in the NBA and recruited Wesley Johnson, Landry Fields, Jerome Jordan, DeAndre Jordan, Dwight Howard, and Tyson Chandler. He also included Stephen and Riley Curry as stars of the video. Lin also made a prank at a gym together with Taiwanese actor Vaness Wu by wearing a fake beard. He also pretended to be a wax figure at Madam Taussads in San Francisco to scare people.

Now, in the recent video that Lin has created, he plays NBA legend Michael Jordan in Space Jam. The introduction of the video is quite strange since Lin starts off with a statement about his retirement and adding that he wants to play video games. Aside from playing video games, he also stated that he wants to watch anime movies.

The YouTube video, which was released Tuesday, already gathered 1.5 million views. This video of Lin is titled "Space Jam 3: Anime Edition."

Original Space Jam

Space Jam is a 1996 animated sports comedy film which stars Michael Jordan. The film features Looney Tunes characters together with MJ himself. Released by Warner Bros under the Family Entertainment label, the movie was about what happened to Jordan from 1993 to 1995 which was the period from his retirement to his return to the NBA. In the movie, Jordan appears in scenes with Bugs Bunny and friends. So far, the film has been the highest grossing basketball film of all times.

Since then a sequel has not yet been done and "Space Jam 2" is still on the works. To make the wait for Space Jam's sequel worthwhile, check out Jeremy Lin's "Space Jam 3: Anime Edition" video below.
