Jeremy Lin "Linsanity" has officially spread to the White House – even President Barack Obama is a fan of the young Asian New York Knicks player now.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney revealed to reporters that the President is an adorer of Lin's talent, which led the Knicks to six victories over the last two weeks, igniting the fans at Madison Square Garden.

While addressing reporters at Air Force One, Carney said that President Obama was "very impressed" with the way Lin's point guard performance and high stats motivated the team. Apparently, he followed Tuesday night's stunning victory over the Toronto Raptors very closely.

"It's a great story, and yes [Obama's] very impressed and fully up to speed," Carney told the media. "I know he's watched Lin play already and he's seen the highlights from last night's game," he said Wednesday morning.

While Linsanity has spread like wildfire over the last two weeks Lin has started in Knicks games, the peak came last night, when he called for an isolation play with the Knicks and Raptors tied 87-87 with only a few seconds left.

Lin paused for a few seconds, challenging the defender and eating up the clock, then gracefully swooped over him, nailing a 3-pointer just as the buzzer went off.

The Madison Square Garden erupted with praise for the new star. The President saw the iconic victory as well.

"It's just a great story, and the president was saying as much this morning," Carney told reporters.

He isn't the only one caught up in the Linsanity, however. Celebrities, sports fans, and even non-basketball watchers know about the 23-year-old Harvard phenom.

"God Bless Jeremy Lin," tweeted Manny Pacquiao, who- like Lin- is unashamed of his Christian faith.

"Jeremy Lin-Point God For The New York Knickerbockers," tweeted Spike Lee, remarking on both Lin's position and his astounding displays in the few games he's played.

Lin has "already become the most famous [Asian American NBA player]," declared Bloomberg News. There is a good chance they're right. Lin is the first Chinese NBA player.

Lin was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week because he averaged 27.3 points, 8.3 assists, and 2.0 after only four starts with the Knicks.
