Jeremy Lin News: Mets Coach Kenny Atkinson Thrilled to Have 'Healthy Jeremiy Lin' Back

The Nets are ready to show the world how much they have improved since their last run as they enter Wednesday's season opener against the Pacers in Indiana. The team had one of the worst finishes in the previous season, partly because of Jeremy Lin's absence. Now that Lin is back, the American basketball player is all geared up to raise their banner.

Lin suffered a bad injury in his first year with the Brooklyn Nets. Due to his hamstring troubles, he had to temporarily leave the court, and his absence took its toll on his team, with the Mets finishing off the season with an upsetting 20-62 record.

In a recent interview, Nets coach Kenny Atkinson expressed his excitement to have Lin back on his team. "I'm excited to have a healthy Jeremy and see what that looks like over 82 games, but I'm curious also and excited to see what this team's going to look like," he said. "That's the biggest thing for the fans. The fans are like, 'Who's going to be good in this league? Who's going to surprise?' That's really the fun part, and throw me in the mix because I'm curious, too," he added.

In a separate interview with Lin, the player said he's excited for the new season, considering the offseason work that the Nets have put in preparing for their upcoming games. According to him, they're not in a position where they could mess around and ease into anything, so if they are able to come out of the games and play well, they'll ride that wave.

Meanwhile, D'Angelo Russell, one of the off-season additions to the Mets, said that having Lin around for the first time felt like the "first day of school." Asked if he and Lin have already talked about how they could best play together, he said, "Talking doesn't really get you too far. Playing together and going through adversity really helps you learn somebody... It's a process. We're still learning each other."
