Jeremy Lin has been vocal about his Christian faith for years and now has started a prayer group for his fans.

Lin, the 26-year-old Los Angeles Lakers guard, recently took to his official website to open up about his grueling Lakers practices, move to Los Angeles and spiritual journey in a personal blog post. The NBA star revealed that he would begin a prayer group that fans can be involved in.

"The journey I've been on has had its ups and downs and I appreciate all of your support throughout. Some of you have asked how to pray for me so I decided to start a prayer group where I can send out requests for those that want to pray and support," Lin wrote on his website. "Please feel free to share with others you think would be interested. So much of what happens is out of our control, but prayer has been a place I have consistently found peace with God."

The Lakers guard went on to speak about his spiritual journey.

"From a spiritual standpoint, God has been teaching me and challenging me to rest in His love and grace everyday. I have always been a 'go-getter' type of guy who is focused on the next day, the next task or the next goal," Lin admitted. "God has been reminding me to stop and enjoy the relationship I have with Him daily. In doing so, I will live life with more peace, joy and purpose!"

According to Lin, God has put a specific Bible verse on his heart for this basketball season.

"Also a verse that I think God has put on my heart for this season is Ephesians 3:20—Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we all ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us," he wrote.

After his first NBA start as a Knick in February 2012, Lin rose to fame when he managed to score 25 points and lead the New York team to a 7-game winning streak. The guard became the first player in NBA history to put up numbers of at least 20 points and seven assists in each of his first four starting games, causing sports pundits, celebrities and fans to name him and the phenomenon "Linsanity."

However, Lin was later traded to The Houston Rockets in the summer of 2012 where he averaged 28 minutes per game and was forced to ride the bench. Now that Lin has been traded to the Lakers, it seems he is ready to start a fresh chapter and is leaning on his faith to do so.

"I'm not trying to recreate Linsanity. I'm not trying to be that phenomenon that happened in New York," Lin told reporters earlier this year, according to The New York Times. "When I look back on the past two years, I think I've grown and learned a lot as a person, as a Christian and also as a basketball player."
