Jeremy Lin Uses Bible When Houston Rockets Use Jersey No. to Court Carmelo Anthony
Jeremy Lin may be using the Bible to deal with the fact that the Houston Rockets may get rid of him to sign Carmelo Anthony.
While the Rockets are one of many teams seeking to recruit Anthony, the free agent All-Star forward, they baited him with his name and no. 7 plastered on the team jersey hanging at their facility that he visited recently. The 25-year-old Christian point guard Lin currently wears the no. 7 jersey on their roster.
Since Anthony, 30, wore the number when playing for the New York Knicks, it seem the team would be willing to let him keep it and lose Lin in the process.

Daryl Morey, Rockets general manager, was candid about trading Lin and Rocket Center Omer Asik to obtain Anthony.
"It's always a challenging situation during free agency. You are always having to recruit players and there might be current players at current positions, might be people with the current numbers," he told FOX 26. "It's unfortunate that it's often hard to handle. Reality is it's standard practice."
While Morey insisted he did not want to hurt feelings, he did not shy away from speaking about replacing Lin.
"I get the sensitivity and I hate that it creates some hurt feelings. I don't like that, but that's obviously Carmelo Anthony's number, that's the number he wants," Morey said. "He told us that. Bottom line, if Carmelo comes Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin have to be traded."
Morey added, "It's not personal. My job is every day figure out how to win."
Lin took to his Twitter after the news broke to tweet a Bible verse that seems to apply to the situation at hand.
"Luke 6:29 - If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also," Lin tweeted. "If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them."
