Jeremy Lin's Impact in the Online Arena (VIDEO)

Since the onset of "Lin-sanity" people have been captivated by Jeremy Lin's on court performances, but it may be the impact that Lin is having in the online arena that is drawing the biggest attention.

Traffic on the New York Knicks' websites, NYKnicks.com and KnicksNow.com, saw an increase in site traffic of more than 770 percent for the two-week period following Feb. 4, according to Yahoo.

The total number of hits in the two weeks after "Lin-sanity" began is astonishing, 13.4 million page views and unique visitors to the website increased by 531 percent.

"The Knicks' recent on-court success has left passionate Knicks fans, sports enthusiasts and even non-sports fans clamoring for up-to-the-minute information and news on the team and Jeremy Lin," said Scott O'Neil, president of MSG Sports.

He continued: "The incredible demand has led to record numbers for our online platforms, where we have built what we feel is the best combination of digital assets in sports that provide unrivaled content with exclusive insight and behind-the-scenes access to the Knicks like nowhere else."

In the realm of social media the numbers become even more mind-boggling, considering that only a few short weeks ago Lin was sleeping on his brother's couch.

The Knicks added 500,000 Facebook "likes," putting the team over the 2 million mark on the site. During the past few weeks, 35,000 people followed the Knicks' Twitter account.

Social media metric site Klout.com released data showing the rise to internet stardom that Lin experienced. Lin climbed from a Klout score, which is on a 1 to 100 scale that "measures influence" on social networking sites, from the low 50s two months ago to a current rating of 84.

All this frenzy surrounding Lin and the Knicks has a big financial upswing as well. During the recent "Lin-sanity," sales at the Knicks online store are up 4,000 percent.

Lin's basketball jersey is also the top seller in the entire NBA during this recent stretch, according to the Knicks.
