Jerome Harrison Brain Tumor Scare: Prayers Said for Player
Jerome Harrison's attempted trade from the Detroit Lions to the Philadelphia Eagles may have saved his life, as doctors discovered a brain tumor while conducting a physical examination on the 28-year-old running back.
According to ESPN sources, the tumor may not have been discovered without the examination.
The publication reported that Harrison's situation is not life threatening and that he will likely be able to maintain a football career.

However, the running back is not expected to be on the field this season.
Harrison was initially traded to the Eagles from the Lions in exchange for running back Ronnie Brown and a 2013 draft pick. However, Brown was not in Detroit long enough to practice, according to ESPN.
Fans of Harrison took to Twitter to express their concern for the running back.
"Prayers go out to Jerome Harrison," one person tweeted.
"Who would have thought getting traded probably saved his life," another said.
Harrison, who would have made a second return to Philadelphia to play for the Eagles, seemed excited for the opportunity Tuesday.
"I’m excited to be back. The week off will be huge to get back in the playbook and start hearing the terminology again," Harrison said, in an official statement on the Eagles' website. "I have been checking out the Eagles to see how LeSean (McCoy) is doing, and he's doing great. I’m excited to be back."
Although Harrison and the Eagles have yet to officially comment on the running back’s health, one twitter user attempted to put the situation into perspective.
"Prayers for Jerome Harrison, was excited about trade but life is way more important than football," the fan tweeted.
Harrison is expected to undergo more testing Thursday, according to ESPN.
