The television talk-show world is hurting after the departure of Regis Philbin, but morning host Kelly Ripa does not have to go on alone – Jerry Seinfeld will fill in as a guest host until Wednesday.

The show was renamed from “Live! With Regis and Kelly” to simply “Live! With Kelly," and producers are planning to have guest hosts headline the show for the next few months, as it is expected there will be some time before a permanent CO-host is announced.

Ripa recently signed a new 5-year-deal with the show and fans can expect to see her in the lead for some time come.

Neil Patrick Harris, the star of “How I Met Your Mother” will help in the host chair next week, but Jerry Seinfeld was given the task of hosting the first show after Philbin’s retirement.

The comedian named the episode “Operation Smooth Transition,” and shared a comedy segment with Miss Piggy from the Muppets movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Monday morning show began with Ripa revealing the new logo, which now only features her name, as well as new merchandise, like coffee cups, bearing the image. Seinfeld did not appear to be caught up in the limelight and was his usual “dapper” self, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Viewers tuning in to catch the first post-Philbin show were also treated to a surprise announcement about a write-in contest where one couple will get to take 30 guests with them and have their wedding at a resort in Hawaii in February. The show will also broadcast a few episodes while there.

The “big announcement” was teased all night long, sparking many rumors about what it might be. The Entertainment Gatherer shared that some thought the new permanent host might be revealed well ahead of time, but that turned out not to be the case.
