Jessa Duggar baby news: Reality star dismayed with lack of attention to her pregnancy

Jessa Duggar's pregnancy was certainly the expected highlight of TLC's "19 and Counting;" however, after the news broke out about Josh Duggar's sexual abuse case, the public's attention has completely shifted to the scandal, with Jessa's pregnancy totally ignored.

This lack of publicity is apparently obvious to none other than Jessa herself. The 22-year-old is expecting her first child with Ben Seewald, and is due to give birth on November 1, which coincidentally is also the couple's first wedding anniversary. According to Daily Mail, Jessa was expecting to have all eyes on her when she broke the news. One of the sources for People Magazine shared with the publication, 'She was in such a joyous moment in her life. Instead, the show isn't there to chronicle this happy time, and even though she's posting on social media, the scandal still gets brought up by commenters. So much has changed for Jessa compared to what Jill experienced, and it can't be changed back. And that's sad for her."

Her expectations weren't really a surprise, since it was the case when her sister, Jill, gave birth and got her own special that covered her entire labor and delivery. The source later on adds, "It is now bittersweet because it's not lost on [Jessa] that Jill giving birth to Israel got an entire TLC special devoted to it. Jessa would have liked to have had the same sort of platform to give thanks, show what a miracle she feels for her child is, and express her gratitude."

Despite the cancellation of the show, Jessa has been proactive in documenting her pregnancy herself on social media. She posts regular updates on Instagram and even started a poll about people's prediction about the gender of their baby.

It was May 16 when Josh Duggar confessed to molesting five minors between 2002 and 2003, which included his own sisters, Jill and Jessa. Following this news was a public outcry about continuing the show, and so TLC announced on July 16 that the show is being permanently canceled.

Unlike Jessa, Jill has since then seemed to shy away from public attention, choosing to do volunteer work with her husband Derick Dillard. However, both sisters will be appearing on an abuse-prevention program airing a special, which aims to raise awareness on child sexual abuse on August 30.
