'Jessica Jones' Season 2: Jessica Deals With Developing Feelings for Trish?

Jessica (Krysten Ritter) may have to deal with some unexpected feelings for her best friend Trish (Rachael Taylor) in the upcoming season of "Jessica Jones."

Recent speculations predict that romance may bloom between Jessica and Trish in the new installment of the Netflix series. Viewers were reportedly quick to point out that there is a growing tension between the two female characters that goes beyond friendship. Trish is Jessica's best buddy and adoptive sister. The heroine has already demonstrated that she is willing to kill anyone who dares hurt her friend. The same goes for Trish. She has been Jessica's source of strength for a long time. Trish was there for her when she was at her weakest.

In a September interview with Esquire, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg addressed the alleged sexual tension between the two characters. According to her, there has always been an underlying intimacy between Jessica and Trish, but it does not mean they are attracted to each other. This tension makes their relationship so much more appealing and unique. The EP made it clear, though, that anything could still happen. Those who are hoping for romance might just get their wish granted in the future.

"People would love that. I sometimes think there's sort of a prurient interest in that, like, can't women just be friends? I feel like for me that's what is unique about the relationship, that they are such intimate friends, and I think they don't have to become lovers — that being said, one never knows," Rosenberg commented in the Esquire interview.

Season 2 is expected to tackle more of Jessica's deepest fears. Although Kilgrave (David Tennant) is already gone, her trauma following his evil deeds will continue. The mind-controlling villain took over Jessica and used her body to kill innocent people. Luke's (Mike Colter) wife was one of the casualties. It broke Jessica to tell her love the truth, but she had to. After that, she and Luke separated.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is expected to air in 2018.
