Jessica Simpson is expecting a bouncing baby boy, if reports are to be believed. The singer/actress announced her second pregnancy in December, after months of speculation; now, of course, everyone is eager to know whether daughter Maxwell will have a brother or sister this year.
"It's Jessica's dream come true. She prayed she was having a boy," a friend told Radar Online. "She found out this week after a check-up at the doctor, who asked her if she wanted to know the sex of the baby. Jessica immediately said yes and when the doctor told her it was a boy she screamed with joy."
Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson already have one child, Maxwell. Her second pregnancy was announced in a photo posted on Twitter.
"She was so happy that Maxwell is getting a little brother because that's something she always wanted when she was growing up. Jessica and Eric are so excited and have started going through names, but they haven't settled on one just yet. It's just a pity their favorite boy's name went to their daughter first!" A friend joked.
Simpson and Johnson do have plans to exchange vows, she told Jay Leno. The couple has been engaged for two years and could not be happier about having another child.
"We've had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up. We're doing it very backwards, I know. I'll just keep my legs crossed, I guess, this time. Apparently it was part of God's plan for my life," she told Leno. "I was extremely shocked [about the second pregnancy] because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old, vibrant Jessica. And it happened, all over again!"
Simpson, who currently has an endorsement deal with Weight Watchers will use the company to help lose the baby weight after s/he is born later this year.
