Jessica Simpson is reportedly "stressed and overwhelmed" by the $4 million deal she previously signed with Weight Watchers, which requires her to lose 50 pounds in five months following her pregnancy.
Close friends to Simpson had allegedly told InTouch magazine that the star is physically exhausted by her agreement and efforts to succeed in losing 130 pounds in less than half a year.
Simpson is reportedly a doting mother and doesn't want to leave her seven week old daughter, Maxwell Drew's side, and the emotional and physical strain is now taking their toll. A friend told InTouch: "She doesn't want to leave her baby. Sometimes she just starts crying. It's hard for her."
Simpson cannot be accused of not making the effort; she has been seen going to the gym on a regular basis, and was even seen entering a local gym on Friday.
Simpson, 31, reportedly reached a pregnancy weight of 210 pounds carrying Maxwell Drew, and was seen eating buttered Pop-Tarts, Macaroni & Cheese, we well as brownies and cookies. Weight Watchers approached her with a deal to lose a target weight in a set period of time, and she confirmed in May that she had signed the deal with the diet company to become its next celebrity spokesperson.
In addition to her gym outings, Simpson is changing her diet, and is reportedly now on a diet of protein-pack meals and home-mixed juices, according to People magazine.
