Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson have reportedly set a wedding date almost three years after the couple announced their engagement.
The couple has had to postpone their wedding twice already due to unexpected pregnancies, but the pair is reportedly determined to walk down the aisle in 2013. Simpson, 31, is currently expecting the couple's second child and the wedding is expected to take place shortly after she gives birth.
"Jessica and Eric are adamant they want to wed this year. Before they found out Jessica was expecting her second child, they'd already set the wheels in motion for a low-key ceremony," a source told RadarOnline.com.
"But then, they had to put their plans on ice when they discovered Jessica was pregnant. Plus, she wanted to avoid a clash with her best pal CaCee Cobb who had a wedding back in December," the source continued.
Simpson celebrated her baby shower on Sunday, which suggests her due date is not too far away. The "Fashion Star" mentor and Johnson, who is a retired NFL star, are said to be planning a summer wedding that could potentially take place abroad.
"When they were in Hawaii over the Christmas holidays, they checked out a couple of local spots where a small ceremony could be planned this summer," the source revealed.
"They're not completely against exchanging their vows in Los Angeles either, but would prefer to do it anywhere else other than their own home," the source added.
The news follows reports that the couple is expecting a baby boy almost one year after welcoming the birth of their first child and daughter baby Maxwell.
"[Jessica] found out this week after a check-up at the doctor, who asked her if she wanted to know the sex of the baby ... she immediately said yes and when the doctor told her it was a boy she screamed with joy!" the source said.
"She was so happy that Maxwell is getting a little brother because that's something she always wanted when she was growing up," the source continued. "Jessica and Eric are so excited and have started going through names, but they haven't settled on one just yet. It's just a pity their favorite boy's name went to their daughter first!"
