Joanna Gaines Praises 'Fixer Upper' Season 5

Chip and Joanna Gaines are pulling the plug on their hit HGTV show, "Fixer Upper," but they have a very good reason to do so.

Late last month, the home renovation duo shocked their millions of fans when they announced that the fifth season of their show would be the last. In a blog post, Joanna called the show an "amazing adventure," but insisted that ending it is the right decision for their family.

She also praised the outcome of their fifth and final season, which arrives in November.

"We are really, really proud of season 5," she wrote. "We laid it all on the field and didn't hold anything back. We think it's the perfect finale to this amazing journey we've been on," she added.

Considering that the series was doing very well with the viewers and is reportedly even HGTV's biggest ad revenue earner, there have been many speculations as to why they had to put an end to it, such as the couple wanting a better contract, being concerned over security, and much more.

However, the real reason is actually just for them to take a much-needed break. A representative for the HGTV stars spoke with Entertainment Tonight and debunked the rumors circulating the abrupt ending of the show.

"Chip and Jo's decision to leave 'Fixer Upper' is truly just based on wanting to catch their breath for a minute; to rest, refresh, and spend even more time with their family and growing businesses," the rep told the news outlet.

"It is not based on concerns for their family's safety or anything else people might read. They were very open and honest about their reasoning behind this decision when they first shared the announcement," the representative added.

The home renovation series "Fixer Upper" premiered on HGTV in 2013. It featured the team-up of real-life husband and wife, Chip and Joanna, as they flipped hundreds of houses through their company, Magnolia Homes. Joanna took charge of designing and remodeling, while Chip managed the construction side of the business.

"Fixer Upper" season 5 premieres next month, but the exact date is yet to be announced. The spin-off series titled "Fixer Upper: Behind the Design" will be released shortly after.
