Jodi Arias Case Sentencing Trial Update: Transcript From Arias' Secret Testimony Released, Death Penalty Still Possible

The transcript of Jodi Arias' closed door testimony has been released.

It can be recalled that two months ago, Maricopa County Judge Sherry Stephens barred the media and the public from hearing the testimony of a "secret witness" called by Arias. Stephens said that the witness was uneasy and refused to testify in public. When news organizations protested the decision, an appeals court threw out the judge's ruling, identified the convicted murderer as the secret witness, and ordered the transcript to be released.

In the nearly 250-page long transcript, attorney Jennifer Wilmott, who is part of Arias' legal team, asked her if she killed Travis Alexander, according to Fox10Phoenix.

"Yes," Arias admitted.

Wilmott: "Why did it take you two years to admit that you did it?"

Arias: "It took me that long to be able to admit to myself that I did it."

Wilmott: "Why did it take you that long to admit it to yourself?"

Arias: "Because, because what I did was so horrific that I couldn't have, I could never have imagined myself doing that to another human being."

When Wilmott asked Arias how she felt after she saw the pictures of Alexander after he died, Arias said, "Again, I think this is somebody that I cared about and I caused, I caused the pain. And those were his last moments and it makes me sick and I wish, I wish so badly that I could just do that whole day over again."

Meanwhile, Judge Stephens has refuted all 17 reasons Arias' defense team presented to remove the death penalty from the case. The judge said that the defense had ample information about porn on Alexander's laptop but did not pursue it, and she also rejected claims by Arias' lawyers that she couldn't get a fair hearing because witnesses are afraid to testify.
